You belong to the asexual spectrum if you experience little to no sexual attraction.
The above definition is the definition from the international ace community. This definition reflects that asexuality is a very broad spectrum.
If you’re ace, you mean you belong to the asexual spectrum.
Asexuality is not a choice, it is a sexual orientation.
The asexual spectrum
On the asexual spectrum are:
- asexuals
- demisexuals (also called demi-asexuals)
- graysexuals (also called gray-asexuals)
If you are asexual, you do not experience sexual attraction to another person.
If you are demisexual, you may be sexually attracted to someone you have a very close relationship with. This bond is closer than a strong bond of friendship.
If you are greysexual, you occasionally feel sexual attraction to someone else.
How do you know if you belong to the asexual spectrum?
The following characteristics of asexuality are often mentioned:
- An absence of sexual fantasies.
- Some asexuals have a libido, but there is little need to make love with another person.
- Some asexuals have feelings of attraction, or even love, but then there is no lust and no sexual attraction involved.

Ik denk van mijzelf (lees: ik weet het zeker) dat ik volgens jullie site: grijs seksueel ben…Graag had ik hier wat meer info gehad, en mocht het kunnen ook events of afspreek-momenten (ik zeg zo maar iets) waar ik deze kan treffen..
Alleen is maar alleen hee, dus hopelijk kunnen jullie mij verder op weg helpen.
Ik heb een afkeer van programma’s zoals “love Island” en al wat seksueel en vooral op getrainde seksuele adonissen betreft. Wat niet zeker niet wil zeggen dat ikzelf niet aantrekkelijk ben. Ik zit volledig in de knoei, dus “Help”
